Stop EACOP: When a Pipeline Threatens Life, Biodiversity, and the Global Climate – An Urgent Call for Environmental Justice

The Peasant’s Voice to Educate and Inform Citizens: A Commitment to Social and Climate Justice

A Direct Threat to the Albertine Ecosystem and Local Communities

The EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) project poses a major threat to the environment, biodiversity, and human rights. Cutting through ecologically sensitive areas, especially the Albertine region in Uganda, this massive pipeline endangers the survival of thousands of species and jeopardizes the livelihoods of local communities. It violates international climate commitments and goes against any logic of sustainable development.

A Climate Bomb Incompatible with Global Warming Mitigation

As the world faces an unprecedented climate crisis, continued investment in fossil fuels is both an ecological and moral failure. The oil extracted through EACOP will emit millions of tons of CO₂ each year, directly fueling climate breakdown. This project contradicts urgent calls from scientists and activists for a renewable energy future.

A Global Call to Resist Climate Injustice

Activists, youth, local communities, and environmental movements around the world are uniting to say #StopEACOP. This is not just about stopping a pipeline—it’s about defending the right to a livable, just, and clean future. Supporting EACOP is supporting destruction; opposing it is choosing life, justice, and the planet. The EACOP Project: A Climate Bomb in the Making at the Heart of East Africa
