Voix du Paysan to educate and inform citizens: a commitment to social and climate justice.
Following the online tribunal, Ugandan communities affected by the EACOP (East African Crude Oil Pipeline) project gathered for an in-person tribunal to voice their grievances before the symbolic court of public opinion. This event gave victims a platform to expose the devastating environmental, social, and economic consequences of the mega oil project led by TotalEnergies.

Organized as part of the #StopEACOP campaign, this people’s tribunal collected powerful testimonies of forced displacement, loss of farmland, threats to livelihoods, and serious human rights violations. The message from the communities was clear and unanimous: Total, pay up and get out, a direct demand for acknowledgment of harm and immediate withdrawal from the project.
The tribunal’s verdict reaffirmed the legitimacy of the local populations’ demands and shed light on the responsibility of multinational corporations in the destruction of African ecosystems. For the organizers, this is not merely a fight against a pipeline, but a fight for climate justice, human dignity, and the sovereignty of communities.

Through #StopEACOP, environmental activists, NGOs, and concerned citizens are intensifying actions to pressure political and financial stakeholders involved in the project. They are calling for a shift toward a future powered by renewable energy—one that respects human rights and preserves ecological balance.
