Voix du Paysan educates and informs citizens: a commitment to social and climate justice.
Voices are rising across the African continent to denounce the harmful projects of TotalEnergies, particularly the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). This project is accused of forcibly displacing thousands of families, destroying ecosystems, and accelerating the climate crisis—sparking outrage among environmental and social justice defenders.

On Tuesday, climate activists gathered in front of TotalEnergies and Standard Bank offices in Johannesburg to demand the immediate halt of the EACOP project. This action is part of the #KickPollutersOutAfrica (#KTOA) campaign—a pan-African initiative denouncing major polluting corporations that exploit natural resources with no regard for local communities or the environment.

Protesters also condemned the complicity of banks and financial institutions like Standard Bank, which continue to fund EACOP despite numerous reports warning of its human, environmental, and climate impacts. They argue that Africa must no longer be a sacrifice zone for multinational profits.

Through this mobilization, activists are calling on African leaders to stand with the people, protect the continent’s ecological sovereignty, and demand sustainable energy solutions. Their message is clear: #StopEACOP, climate justice now!
