As the world rallies behind the global Earth Hour campaign, led by WWF, to symbolically turn off lights and highlight the urgency of protecting our planet, Idjwi—a remote island territory facing deep ecological challenges—stands out with its fragile energy reality. Here, where darkness is already a daily reality, the symbolism takes on a new meaning. It’s not just about turning off the lights, but about igniting ecological consciousness among citizens.
