Air Connectivity and Tourism Dynamism in Africa: Towards a Sustainable Policy Integration

The Farmer’s Voice to Educate and Inform Citizens: A Commitment to Social and Climate Justice

The 2nd joint UN Tourism and ICAO Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa, held in Luanda, marks a decisive step in redefining the synergies between these two strategic sectors. This high-level international meeting aims to strengthen the integration of tourism and aviation policies to support sustainable economic growth across the continent. As a designated national expert, the participation of Mr. Olivier Kamunzinzi in this technical and ministerial segment highlights the importance of intersectoral dialogue to address challenges related to accessibility, safety, and sustainability.

Tourism and air transport are interdependent: without effective connectivity, African destinations remain isolated, limiting their global competitiveness. This conference provides a platform for exchanging experiences and formulating joint recommendations among policymakers, technicians, and partners. The objective is to promote resilient infrastructure, coherent policies, and improved regulation to foster intra-African mobility, attract investment, and enhance the value of local tourism resources.

Ultimately, Africa must build on this momentum to make air connectivity a key driver of sustainable tourism transformation. The leadership of the Secretary-General for Tourism in this strategic process positions our country at the center of continental discussions. Through strengthened cooperation and targeted reforms, this ambitious vision could contribute to an inclusive, ecological, and competitive tourism development in Africa.
