Voix du Paysan to train and inform citizens: a commitment to social and climate justice
A formative immersion in Kalambo
From September 6 to 13, 2025, first-year Agronomy students from the Catholic University of Bukavu (UCB) traded classroom benches for the fertile soil of Kalambo. Through an intensive immersion internship, they experienced the concrete realities of the agricultural world: techniques for fighting erosion, managing vegetable crops, soil observation. This initiative aims to anchor theoretical knowledge in real practice, essential for their future careers.

Dedicated mentors for excellence in training
Guided by a passionate teaching team, including assistants, engineers, and technicians, the students developed much more than technical skills. Discipline, collaboration, analytical thinking, and professional rigor were the key words of this week in the field. Through this type of integrated training, UCB once again demonstrates its commitment to an education that prepares leaders ready to serve the community and take on the agricultural challenges of tomorrow.

A vision focused on a sustainable agricultural future
At the Catholic University of Bukavu, learning is not limited to classrooms. It is embodied in the field, in actions, mistakes, successes, and the lessons learned. This synergy between theory and practice is shaping a generation of trained agronomists who are aware of the environmental, economic, and social issues linked to agriculture in the DRC. At UCB, excellence is cultivated in the service of the community.
