Voix du Paysan to train and inform citizens: a commitment to social and climate justice.
Since the beginning of the war in Sudan, the country has been sinking into an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. More than 150,000 people have been killed, and over 12 million have been forced to flee, making this tragedy the largest displacement of people in the world today. Infrastructure is collapsing, the economy is crumbling — with an alarming 80% drop in public revenues in 2024 — and famine is spreading, putting millions at risk. Sexual violence, psychological torture, and ethnic targeting are increasing, even as the United States formally recognized in 2024 that the atrocities committed in Darfur constitute genocide.

A Humanitarian Crisis Devastating Civilians and Destroying the Future of Sudanese Children
At the heart of the conflict, civilians are the primary victims. Thousands of children are suffering rape, exploitation, and irreversible trauma, while the destruction of livelihoods plunges entire families into famine and despair. Limited access to humanitarian aid—worsened by fighting and blocked relief corridors—leaves entire communities isolated, starving, or forced to undertake dangerous journeys to survive. The Darfur regions, already scarred by decades of violence, are reliving the horrors of ethnic cleansing, this time in troubling international silence.

A Continental Call: Mobilizing Africa to End the War in Sudan
In the face of this urgent situation, African organizations such as Africans Rising are calling for solidarity and collective action. The press conference scheduled for December 1, 2025, at the Mageuzi Hub in Nairobi aims to alert the international community, mobilize civil society, and urge African decision-makers to take action to end this deadly war. This gathering will be an opportunity for Pan-African actors to emphasize that Sudan’s fate concerns all of Africa and that a coordinated response is essential to protect populations, prevent regional collapse, and restore lasting peace.
