In a relaxed atmosphere, in the heart of Buhimba’s greenery, the students of the Higher Institute of Tourism and Management of Goma (ISTou-G/GOMA) experienced a rewarding outing during their scientific excursion under the explanations of a guide. This natural setting, ideal for outdoor learning, allowed these future professionals in tourism, environment, and hospitality to deepen their knowledge in the field. This memorable moment will remain engraved as a perfect illustration of the union between academic theory and real-world practice.

Stimulating discussions on tourism and the environment
Sitting in a circle with their supervisors, the students enthusiastically shared their experiences and reflections on the challenges and opportunities related to local tourism, the environment, and hospitality management. The discussions highlighted the importance of sustainable tourism, the promotion of Congo’s natural heritage, and the role of young people in protecting the environment. This participatory dynamic fueled intellectual curiosity and strengthened each person’s ecological awareness.

Hospitality, professional practices, and student cohesion
Beyond the educational aspect, this excursion was also a moment of cohesion. The students exchanged with their supervisors about good practices in hospitality, the demands of the profession, and digital innovations in the sector. Between debates, sharing, and moments of relaxation, this outing to Buhimba proved to be a real open-air laboratory, preparing the ISTou-G/GOMA students to passionately take on the challenges of their future careers.
