Voix du Paysan to Educate and Inform Citizens: A Commitment to Social and Climate Justice
The Synergy of Ecologists for Environment and Development (SEED) holds a key responsibility in combating plastic pollution in Lake Kivu. As a network of committed environmental actors, its mission is to mobilize, train, and coordinate local efforts to sustainably reduce plastic waste in the lake.

SEED regularly conducts awareness campaigns targeting lakeside communities, youth, and local authorities to raise understanding of the ecological, health, and economic impacts of plastic waste. These educational actions are vital to build a culture of shared responsibility around the lake.
The Synergy also coordinates clean-up operations, supports recycling initiatives, and promotes eco-innovation, especially through green entrepreneurship. It acts as a catalyst for youth-led and community projects by providing technical and strategic support.

Lastly, SEED plays a strong advocacy role by formulating policy recommendations and engaging with public institutions to improve plastic regulations. It pushes for strict local laws and the implementation of effective monitoring and enforcement mechanisms.
