Voix du Paysan — educating and informing citizens as a commitment to social and climate justice
On December 5, 2025, the Higher Pedagogical Institute (ISP) of Bukavu will come alive with ecological energy during a major tree-planting day called “Green Campus.” Initiated by the Student Brigade, this activity aims to create a tree park within the ISP grounds, symbolizing a collective commitment to a healthier environment and a more beautiful institution. The entire academic community is invited to participate actively, each person planting a tree as a personal gesture for life and sustainability.
Akiza Arnold Kihunde, a student voice in service of the climate
As the student spokesperson, Akiza Arnold Kihunde embodies a youth that is both aware and determined to act in the face of environmental challenges. For him, “Green Campus” is more than just an event, it is a long-term vision where students become guardians of their living environment. He says that every tree planted is an act of ecological resistance and a step toward making the campus a model for the entire South Kivu region.

A model of environmental commitment to follow
Under Arnold Kihunde’s leadership, the Student Brigade plans to sustain this initiative through awareness campaigns, ecological clubs, and stronger collaboration with academic authorities. This reforestation marks the beginning of an ambitious process: turning ISP Bukavu into a green center of excellence where every student becomes an active participant in the ecological transition and the protection of biodiversity.
